G'day all, and welcome to summer, this is just a brief on whats been happening. Last contest was the rob bain tag team event held in tricky 3ft waves, 45 competitors took to the water in what was a shortened event due to conditions.
In the end it was the contests names sake team that were victorious on the day. The team of bainy, megsy, stu blake, spuddo and rob zammit took home the medals, but not without a fight from team 5 who were without the days highest scorer in billy bain. Billy amassed a total of 21 points in his 1st round before copping a board to the head and missing the final.
That night the civos was the place to be with a big mob on hand to watch manly smash souths in the nrl home semi final. A presentation was in order at half time in the footy and it was the great soon to be married megs who got up and took the winning teams honours.
After a disappointing month of swell it was quite clear the date of our double points October contest was always going to be in jeopardy of being cancelled. And cancelled it was. With the chicks WCT event scheduled in for the 8Th to 14Th October on our beach, the second weekend is out of the question to hold our contest.(we are being financially compensated) So the next club contest is set down for Saturday 20Th October, normal cut-off times apply.
